OxygenOS (Chinese: OS ; pinyin: y? ng OS ) is a special version of Android mobile operating system developed by China OnePlus smartphone manufacturer exclusively for their smartphones. OxygenOS is developed for their overseas market. There is also another version of OS designed specifically for the Chinese home market called HydrogenOS (Chinese: OS ; pinyin: q? ng OS ).
In an interview published September 3, 2016, XDA Developers said OnePlus "actively combines both platforms (OxygenOS and HydrogenOS) into a single, cohesive operating system."

Important features of version 2.0 and 2.1.1 include app permissions, Waves MaxxAudio, SwiftKey keyboards, off-screen gestures, custom icons, dark mode, manual camera modes, and RAW support for 3rd party applications such as FV-5 2 Camera , 75.
On June 14, 2016, OnePlus released OxygenOS 3.0. This is an Android version with minor modifications and internal settings, such as Gestures, Shelf, and dark mode by OnePlus.
On December 31, 2016, OnePlus released OxygenOS 4.0.0 to the public through OTA downloads. It is based on Android Nougat and includes its features and some other modifications.
Privacy issues
On October 10, 2017, a security researcher discovered that the OxygenOS system service named "DeviceManagerService" collects sensitive data and sends it back to the OnePlus server. This service collects many data points, including device serial number, phone number, IMEI, network connection, and time records of user activity within each application. Users can remove system services through ADB. Then, OnePlus released statements on data collection and analytics, claiming that data is only used for system upgrades and optimizations, not shared with third parties, and can be disabled by users in system settings. OnePlus also said that they are revising the mechanisms of data analysis, and will no longer collect certain data.
