The GA engine is a 1.3-1.3 L inline 1.3-inch piston engine from Nissan. It has cast iron block and aluminum head. There is SOHC & amp; Version DOHC, 12 valves & amp; 16 valve versions, rusted versions, single point and multi-point injected, and versions with variable time valve (GA16DE). GA was manufactured from August 1987 to 2013. Since 1998 it was only available from Mexico in B13.
In the machine code, the first two initials indicate the machine class, the two numbers indicate the engine displacement (in decilitres), the last two initials indicate the cylinder head style and induction type (D = DOHC, S = carburetor, E = injection). In the case of a single early suffix, early indicates the type of induction.

The catalyzed model comes with an electronically controlled carburetor. In this version the most common problem is the ratio of solenoid air/fuel in the carburetor.

GA16S is a 1.6 liter SOHC engine (1597 cc) with bore and stroke 76.0 mm and 88 mm. GA16S has twelve valves, solid valve rockers, and comes with a carburetor. It produces 94 hp (without catalyst). For some markets, such as South Africa, there is also an eight-valve version that produces 84 hp (63 kW) at 5500 rpm. In New Zealand's N13 Sentra market, it produces 92 hp (69 kW) at 6000 rpm and 133 N-m (98 pb-ft) at 3200 rpm, with a compression ratio of 9.4: 1.

GA16E is a 1.6 liter (1597 cc) multi-point fuel injected SOHC engine. It produces 110 hp (82 kW).
GA16i
The GA16i is a 1.6 liter (1597Ã, cc) throttle-body injection fuel engine manufactured from August 1987 to June 1990, which generates 90Ã, hp (66 kW). The GA16DE is a 1.6 liter engine (1597 cc) manufactured from November 1990 to 1999. All GA16DEs have sixteen valves and DOHC heads. There are three versions: NVCS first generation North American (1991-94) NVCS (VTC), which produces 110 hp (80 kW) at 6000 rpm and 110 lbÃ, Â · ft (146 Nm) at 4000 rpm, North America second generation ( 1995-1999) NVCS (VTC), which produces 115 hp (85 kW) at 6000 rpm and 110 lbÃ, Â · ft (146 Nm) at 4000 rpm, and non-NVCS (European-spec) non-NVCS (102 hp) 76 kW). GA16DS is a 1.6 liter (1597 cc) only engine with a DOHC 16-valve head. The model is equipped with a catalyst using an electronically controlled carburetor. It produces between 89 hp (66 kW) and 95 hp. (No 70 kW catalyst, 95 hp)

GA16DNE
GA16DNE is a Mexican-powered 1.6 liter (1597 cc) engine, which produces 105 hp (78 kW). The main differences between DE and DNE are: DNE has no VTC and no ECCS plenum. DNE has a vertical throttle body with MAF in it; air filters are diagonally oriented to air filter housing. This variant was also released in several Southeast Asian models (Philippine and Malaysian Sentra B14s)
"N" in its nomenclature means "New EGI" (emission system), which means it does not have an EGR system like GA16DE.
Since 2003, the DNE variant comes with a new ECU and 3 oxygen sensors.
