The Yamaha FZ150i is a 150a, cc motorcycle manufactured by Yamaha Motor Company exclusively for the Southeast Asian market. Launched in Indonesia in June 2007 at Palembang Indah Mall, Palembang and then Malaysia in January 2008 at First World Hotel, Genting Highlands as a completely knocked down (CKD) bike for fuel injection in the Asian motorcycle market. Marketing

In Malaysia, the FZ150i is assembled locally at Hong Leong Yamaha (HLY) factory in Sungai Buloh, Selangor. According to the HLY website, this model is expected to sell as many as 500 units a month after the first year of introduction. Apart from Indonesia and Malaysia, FZ150i is also available in other Asian countries such as Singapore and Vietnam.

Model updates

The latest version of the FZ150i was launched in Indonesia as V-Ixion Lightning in 2013 and in Malaysia in April 2014. The machine was upgraded to produce 12.2 kW (16.3 hp) @ 8,500 rpm with 14 , 4? N? M (10.6 lb? Ft) of torque at 7,500 rpm. The oxygen sensor is added to the engine exhaust port. Front and rear tires are upgraded with Dunlop D102A 90/80-17 in front and 120/70-17 on the back, mated to 5-spoke star-shaped alloy wheels. The rear brake is enhanced by using a Nissin single piston calliper with a 200 mm disc. It has a grab bar for the pillion rider positioned under the rear body side of the bike.

By the end of 2015, the bike has undergone several minor changes including a redesigned headlamp and instrument panel, a shorter rear fender, and a corresponding Euro 3 disposal system. This model is known as V-Ixion Advance in Indonesia.

The FZ150i/V-Ixion 2017 update was revealed at Indonesia International Motor Show 2017, Jakarta at the end of April 2017. It has a completely different bodywork compared to the previous model. This version has 2 variants:

Standard V-Ixion that uses the same machine, frame, transmission, wheel and rear swingarm as before. This version also adds helpling clips and sandals as standard.
V-Ixion R which shares the same engine, frame, transmission, wheel and rear swingarm as the YZF-R15 2017. The engine generates 14.2 kW (19.0 hp) @ 10,000 rpm with torque of 14.7? N? M (10.8 lbf? Ft) at 8,500 rpm. This variant has a wider rear tire and a longer wheelbase than the standard version.
