The Nissan Sentra is a car manufactured by Nissan since 1982. Originally a subcompact in classification, for the 2000 model year it was reclassified as a compact car. Until 2006, Sentra is a Japanese export version cultivated by Nissan Sunny, but since the 2013 model year, Sentra is the export version that was revoked from Nissan Sylphy b17. Sentra nameplate not used in Japan. Many other countries in South America sell their Sunny version as Sentra. In Mexico, the first three generations of Sentra are known as Nissan Tsuru (Japanese for cranes), and the B13 model is sold under that name until 2017, in addition to the latest model labeled Sentra.
In North America, Sentra currently functions as a compact car for Nissan, although rated as a mid-size car by the EPA because of its interior volume since 2007 model. While Sentras was previously a subcompact, Sentra has grown over the years, with Nissan Versa having replaced Sentra in the entry-level area.
The Sentra name was created for Nissan by Ira Bachrach from Namelab, and Bachrach describes its origins as "Nissan wants consumers to understand that it's safe enough even though it's small." Sentra sounds like a center and also a guard, which evokes a security picture. "

B11 ( 1982-1986)
The first generation Nissan Sentra was introduced in the United States in May 1982 as a direct replacement for the Datsun 210. Initially the model was imported from Japan, where it was manufactured at the Zama plant. Available in four body styles (two-door sedan, four-door sedan, five-door wagon and a three-door hatchback coupe), it is the second car to be marketed in the United States under the Nissan signage and uses the model name instead of a number. The first is the Nissan Stanza, introduced in 1981 New York Auto Show as a model in 1982. While the previous Sunny model has used the front-engine layout, rear-wheel-drive, B11 Sentra is the first to use front-engine layout, front- wheel-drive. Engine options are SOHC four-cylinder (HWS) 50Ã, cc (50Ã, kW) (E15) 1.5Ã,L, replacing the old A-Series OHV. It features a semi-hemispherical combustion chamber, high-velocity intake port and semi-dual exhaust manifold to provide strong torque in low and middle rpm ranges. Peak torque is 85 lbb? Ft (115Ã, N? M) at 3200 rpm. The transmission option is manual four speed, manual 5 speed or three speed automatic with locking torque converter. The drag coefficient is 0.39 for the coupe and 0.40 for the two and four-door sedans.
At the time of its release, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) gave Sentra MPG the highest gasoline mileage among the gasoline-powered cars sold at the time, 43 miles per gallon in the city and 58 miles per gallon on the highway, a combined 48 miles per gallon. The shell weight of just 1875 pounds helps to reach that number. The MPG center is a special configuration featuring a three-way exhaust catalyst and an electronically controlled fuel gauge to monitor fuel-air mixtures automatically and make adjustments to improve fuel mileage.
The trim levels are standard, Deluxe and XE, while the price range is between US $ 4,949 for a basic two-door sedan up to US $ 6,899 for a two-door XE coupe hatchback. Standard equipment on all models is a four-wheel independent suspension, front disc brakes and rear drums, rack and pinion steering, maintenance free batteries, rear ashtrays and bucket seats. Deluxe models add halogen headlamps, remote locking gas gear, carpet rods, and rear buffer washer on the cart. Deluxe and XE offer colored glass, travel odometer, makeup mirror, double remote mirror, and door trim. XE offers carpet cutting, analog quartz clock, long-range rear window opener, low fuel warning lights, Clarion AM-FM stereo radio, power steering, tachometer and 155/13 radial whitewall tires. Sunroof is available as an option.
The center quickly became a success, partly because of the attractiveness of low fuel consumption. In its first year of sales, it has become the top-selling importer in the US and the fourth best-selling passenger car (along with the previous 210), with 191,312 units sold from both cars. Sentra ended the year 1983 as the most sold passenger car, with 209,889 units.
The 1983 model introduced the 1.717 L CD17 I4 diesel engine, mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Also, 1.5Ã,Ã L is replaced by 69Ã, hp (51Ã, kW) 1.6Ã, L E16 as a standard engine, available with a five-speed manual or three-speed automatic. Later that year Sentra also received an electronically controlled carburetor.
In April 1985, Nissan began production of the Sentra in Smyrna, Tennessee, after an investment of US $ 85 million. The 1985 model received minor exterior changes: aerodynamic aerodynamic headlights, new grille and blackwall tires replaced old whitewall tires. A sporty SE option is introduced. The SE is only available in a two-door hatchback model and includes alloy wheels, black bottom body paint and black out grille. Also, the automatic transmission is optional on all of the Sentras except the two-door sedan base, MPG Diesel and SE coupe. Prices start at US $ 5,499. Diesel engines discontinued in the US market. Consumer Reports magazine rated reliability B11 as "better than average" in 1985.
Regarding the safety of the B11 model, it was ranked the seventh safest car in the ranking made by the Automatic Security Center in 1983, which examined National Highway Traffic Administration (NHTSA), which consisted of a frontal accident at 35 miles per hour.
In Mexico it's called Datsun/Nissan Tsuru. Some early rare models, currently still have Datsun badges but were soon replaced by Nissan badges. Also, the three-door hatchback is known as the Nissan Samurai and it is offered with a performance package called "Ninja" which includes Turbo stickers and low Ninja boosts on the underside of the door.
B11 is sold in the UK as Nissan Sunny in 1.3 variant DX, 1.3 GL, 1.5 DX, 1.5 GL, 1.5 GL Auto, 1.5 SGL and 1.5 SGL Spirit. A station wagon version is also offered.

B12 (1985-1990)
This generation carries a variety of body styles owned by B11, including station wagon, two-door sedan or four-door, three-door hatchback, and Sport Coupà © the hatchback. The B12 chassis was first manufactured and marketed in 1985 in most parts of the world; However, it was not offered to the United States until 1986. For the 1987 model, all the Sentras came standard with an E16 engine with 69 hp (51 kW) (except Sport CoupÃÆ'à © and a four-wheel-drive cart, which came with an E16i throttle- body-injected) and five-speed manual transmission. In 1988, all Sentras had 70Ã, hp (52Ã,ìW) E16i, offered for this year with throttle body injection (TBI). In many parts of the world E-series littered the B12 chassis with some E16E multi-point fuel injection engines. Diesel engines are also offered in some models, but are rare and only available in North American models of 1987 and in certain parts of the world. From 1989 to 1990, the machine's only option was 90Ã, hp (67 kW) GA16i, the SOHC 12-valve precursor of the GA16DE. Transaxles offered are 4 and 5 speed manuals (RN4F31A and RS5F31A, respectively) and 3-speed automatic with lockup torque converter (RL3F01A).
The B12 carries over a radically modified 4-wheel independent suspension from the B11, with optional 4-wheel disc brakes in several parts of the world. This is the beginning of the standard model class through the 2003 model (not all classes are available every year) has E as the base-level economic car, XE as a next-up model, < b> GXE as the top-tier for 4-door sedan, sporty coupe SE , and SE-R (Not available in the US market) as the top of line performance model. GXE (available from 1987 to 2003) has a body-colored bumper, aero aero mirror with manual remote control, tachometer and standard 13 "175/70R13 alloy wheels along with air conditioning, variable intermittent wiper, but no standard cassette deck or power window/locks/mirrors.SE also has double mirrors, air conditioners, tachometers, and electrical door locks and windows in some markets and possibly electronic fuel injectors.
The B12 chassis will be the last chassis to offer a station wagon model, which is marketed as "California" in some Asian markets. Even more rare is the four-wheel drive version of the station wagon, offered as an option in 1987, 1988 and 1989. These models feature an electronically activated remote transfer case to drive an independent suspended rear wheel, making the car into a four- -wheel-drive (not all-wheel-drive) to choose from.
1989 saw subtle changes in Sentra's coupe body style and sedan, as larger and more rounded headlamps were introduced to the front fenders and the redesigned rear lights were added to the rear fascia (the station wagon maintains the same taillights). The Nissan logo on the front grille is moved from right to center. In 1990, an electrically enhanced front shoulder belt was added, as well as a 3-point harness for rear passengers, excluding central rear passengers.
Sport Coupe is a sporty style from Sentra. That's no body component along with the standard model. It's only available with E16i or GA16i. All Sport Coupes have double wobble, dual distance adjustment mirrors, and instrument tachometer clusters. The SE model adds features like air conditioning and rear speakers. All B12 Sentras use the same cable, regardless of the options installed on a particular vehicle.
The B12s are known for their excellent reliability and fuel savings, and are considered by fans to be good low-budget car projects due to the exchange of parts between generations and with other Nissan models.
In Canada, the B12 four-door sedan remains available through the 1993 model. Basically a rejuvenated Nissan Tsuru II built in Mexico, it's called Sentra Classic to distinguish it from the B13 model released for 1991. It replaces the Nissan Micra 3/5-door hatchback that was discontinued at the time as a price leader model. All 1991-93 "Classic" models come with 70Ã, hp (52Ã,ìW) E16i and choice of two transmissions, 5-speed manual or 3-speed automatic.
In the Philippines, initially offered in three trims are 1.7 DX (diesel), 1.3 SLX and 1.5 SGX, the wagon version is also available at 1.5 SGX trim and is called Nissan California. In mid-1989, the Centra model line was refreshed and the engine was upgraded to 1.4- (LX) and 1.6-liter. The SGX 1.6 acquires power steering, windows, door locks and side mirrors, the first in its class. The second generation B12 also has a diesel variant that has a 1.7 CD17 engine. The second wagon version (known as Nissan California 1.6 SGX) also has all the power features.
B13 (1990-1994)
This sedan became standard with a 110-126 hp (94-kW) and 108 pound-feet (146Ã, N? M) 1.6-liter 16-valve 4-cylinder GA16DE engine. It comes in basic models, E, XE, SE, and GXE. GXE comes with power packages like power windows/locks/mirrors while XE, SE, SE-R comes with a standard and optional sunroof and alloy wheel. The four-door model comes with a front-seat motorized belt. The short three-door hatchback of the B12 Sentra is not replaced in this generation, and the coupà © sports version is replaced with a rounded Nissan NX.
For the 1992 model year (August 1991 - July 1992 production), passenger vanity mirrors and black side body molds became standard at 2-door Sentra. The Value Option Package (AC, cruise control, and stereo system) is extended to the SE model. An optional three-speed automatic in E coupe is dropped and obtains an optional 4-speed automatic, divided by other models.
Facelift
From August 1992 production, B13 received a facelift for the 1993 model. All Sentras received interior updates, new front and rear fascia. Driver's airbags were also standardized on GXE and optionally in the remainder of the range for 1993. The XE Limited model was added for coupes and sedans.
For the 1994 model (August 1993 production), CFC-free refrigerants became standard on models equipped with air conditioning. The XE model gets more standard equipment including air conditioning, cruise control and a stereo cassette player. The XE Limited was dropped for 1994. In May 1994, a 1994.5 "Limited" model was released in lieu of a delayed replacement, due in early 1995.
Sentra SE-R
B13 is the first to offer the famous and then-new Nissan SR20DE engine in the sporty two-door SE-R model. Setting the record of the subcompact speed of the moment, Sentra SE-R comes with 140 hp (104.4 kW) at 6400 rpm and 132Ã, lb? Ft (179Ã, N? M) torque at 4800 rpm. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (100 km/h) in 7.6 seconds and a quarter mile in 15.8 seconds. It comes with 4-wheel disc brakes and has an independent MacPherson strut suspension. Further improved handling is a finite-limited thick-slip differential, which is the standard equipment on the SE-R. B13 SE-R produces 21mpg -US (11Ã, L/100Ã, km; 25mpg -imp ) city/29 mpg -US (8 , 1 L/100 km, 35 mpg -low ) highway.
Philippines
B13 is released in JX, LEC, EX Saloon, Super Saloon and SE Saloon variants. The Super Saloon has all the features of power. The SE-Saloon comes as a limited edition equipped with four-wheel disc brakes and ABS. Both the SE and Super Saloon come standard with GA16DE.
The B13 SuperSaloon and SE Saloon come with GA16DE (top of the line engine for Philippine) fuel injection engine comparable to AS Spec B13 SE Limited with load options. These models are not equipped with emission equipment - catalytic converters and sensors as well as EGR. B13 where it was sold from 1990 to 1999. The LEC version is equipped with standard GA13 Carburated engines as well as LEC Ps (Power Steering models). The JX is equipped with a GA14 carburated engine.
Nissan Tsuru/V16 (1992-2017) < span id = "tsuru">
Mexico-made B13 centers are sold in Mexico for 25 years as well as parts of Asia, Africa, Middle East, Central America and South America. This is known as Nissan Tsuru in Mexico, Nissan V16 in Chile, Sentra B13 in Central American countries. and Sentra ClÃÆ'ásico in Peru and the Dominican Republic. The Tsuru vehicles destined for the Mexican market were modified by Nissan Mexicana exclusively for the Mexican market and for the most part synonymous with the 1991 model except for the new Renault clutch/transmission, a renewed Mexican electronic system, and minor cosmetic and ergonomic improvements.
Tsuru was the most popular car in Mexico from 1997 to 2011 when it was surpassed by Mexico making Volkswagen Jetta. The Middle Eastern/African version of the export market is the same basic car with only a few cosmetic changes and a mechanical downgrade to make it cheaper, such as non-power steering, downgrade interior trim, braking system and non-hydraulic mechanical coupling.
Vehicles sold in the Middle East region are not equipped with catalytic converters to make cars cheaper to build. Due to the lack of catalytic converter vehicles it is illegal in Mexico and South America. The newer models have received the Renault hydraulic clutch and an optional catalytic converter. Affordable prices, relatively good fuel economy, are easy to repair and finding spare parts makes it popular with local taxi drivers and low-income families in Mexico, South America, Central America and the Caribbean. The Tsuru is generally used for livery taxicab in Mexico as a substitute for VW Beetle - like its predecessor, Tsurus has been seen in the Southwest United States since Mexican nationals can operate them in the United States for having valid registration documents (they are illegal for sale and/or exported to the United States for not meeting DOT safety requirements such as airbags and electronic stability control and less than 25 years). Due to the passage of tighter safety regulations in Mexico, Tsuru's production was suspended in May 2017, as Tsuru did not have both anti-lock brakes and airbags. The special warning edition is limited to 1000 cars that go on sale in March 2017.
B14 (1995-1999)
Introduced on January 5, 1995, Sentra changed from an independent rear suspension to a torque beam setting. Some variants are not equipped with rear swaybar or rear disc brakes. Many of these vehicles are equipped with a 1.6-liter DOHC engine with the Nissan's Variable Intake Valve Control System (NVTCS) Controller and a standard 5-speed manual transmission can reach up to 30-40 MPG depending on conditions. This generation is also the first generation in Mexico that uses the name Sentra . This is also the first generation of Sentra exclusively sold in the form of a sedan, because the coupe was revealed for the sake of the 200SX Nissan reintroduction. The revived 200SX also replaces the associated Nissan NX.
All the engines in the B14 line come with a timing chain, which is designed to last a vehicle's lifetime.
The B14 center platform is offered multiple trim, Base, XE, GXE, GLE, SE and SE Limited. Base and XE come with a 13-inch steel wheel with a hubcap, GXE before 1998 also includes a 13-inch wheel. The only difference between the trim is the GXE and comes with rear seat back access, rear headrests, handrail grip on the passenger side, additional fabrics on doors and chairs compared to vinyl, power windows, locks, mirrors, etc. The GLE, SE, and Special Editions are included in some skin cases, rear spoiler and moonroof, and keyless entry packs. All the trim except SE and SE-R have GA16DE 1.6Ã, L engine that produces 115 hp (86 kW) and 108 pound-feet (146 N m). SE and SE-R receive a 2.0L SR20DE engine with 140 hp (104 kW). The 200SX SE-R came with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift buttons and even Limited-Slip-Differential until 1997.
SE
Sedan gets all the performance parts (minus limited-slip differential) in 1998 with Sentra SE. The SE sedan comes with the same 2.0-liter SR20DE engine as the SE-R. This generation witnessed the end of the service in Smyrna, Tennessee.

B15 (2000-2006)
Sentra eventually crossed into the "compact" class when the redesigned model was launched in February 2000 as a model year 2000. When new, the redesign was considered a substantial improvement, compared to the "cheap" economy car it replaced. Previously, the compact class was occupied by Altima, which moved into the middle class in 2001, and its wheelbase remained unchanged from the previous generation. Also to note is that while the previous Sentras are very similar to the twin B-series Nissan-Japanese market them, the B15 Sentra is very different from the Sunny B15 (Nissan Super Sunny). Production shifted from Smyrna, Tennessee to Aguascalientes, Mexico, and the Smyrna production line was rearranged to build Nissan Xterra. The 2000-2001 SE Sentra with SR20DE rocker roller motor, which has 145 hp (108 kW) and 136 lb ft (184 μm) torque, occupies the top of the Sentra line up to the SE-R back for the model. in 2002. The 1.6 L GA16DE engine is down supporting 1.8 L QG18DE (1809 or 1769cc), with a rating of 126 hp (94 kW) and 129 pound-feet (175 N). In Brazil, this engine produces 113 hp (84 kW) at 5,600 rpm and 114 lb ft (155 N) at 4,400 rpm. Many improvements were made from previous generations. The new model features a new interior with high-quality plastic and more comfortable seats. The exterior is also updated substantially and now features a sleek body mold and clear headlights. The weight of the QG18DE Centers is 2.513 pounds (1,140 kg). With the introduction of the B15 in 2000, Nissan also introduced the 'Clean Air' CA trim available only in California. The CA trim has a double-wall exhaust, 3 catalytic converters, rapid catalyst heating, and a special coating radiator that completely converts ozone surface level (smog) into oxygen. The Sentra CA model is the only gasoline-fueled vehicle in the world to receive California Air Resources Board's (CARE) Super ultra low-emission vehicle (SULEV) certification and earn zero emissions credits.
In markets where B15 Sentra or Sunny are not for sale, Nissan usually sells a similar car called Nissan Bluebird Sylphy (G10/N16) in Japan but under other names elsewhere. In Europe, Bluebird Sylphy is known as Nissan Almera (N16) and Australia and New Zealand as Nissan Pulsar (N16). G10/N16 is built on the same platform as the B15 and has the same interior and engine.
Sentra SE-R
In 2001 for the 2002 model, the newly introduced SE-R is powered by a 2.5 liter QR25DE of 165 hp (123 kW) and 175 pound-foot (237Ã, N? M) 4-cylinder. The SE-R comes with a 5-speed RS5F51A or 4-speed automatic optional manual transmission. The 5-speed manual was dropped on the 2003 model, which consequently made it the only 4-speed automatic transmission available.
A more aggressive front fascia is added thanks to the Nissan Skyline-inspired front bumper for the 2002 model. The main headlights of the black housing, fog lamps, side skirts, rear spoiler, dual-tip exhaust and 16 "standard aluminum alloy wheels are also standard. sport-tuned suspension, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and beige duster sportswear.
Sentra SE-R Spec V
Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V is a sports version that is more oriented to the performance of Nissan Sentra. The engine (also shared with the SE-R) is the same 2.5 liter QR25DE unit originally made for the Nissan Altima and Frontier pickups. This engine produces 175 hp (130 kW) at 6000 rpm and 180 lb ft (244 N m) of torque at 4000 rpm. It was mated to a six-speed RS6F51H manual transmission and a helical limited slip differential; which serves as the only transmission option for Spec V.
Car handling is aided by more aggressive tuning of car suspensions (compared to lower trim models) and the addition of 17-inch low profile wheels. A front strut reinforcement tower, tighter springs, revised shock absorbers, stronger front polyurethane busing, dual-tip exhaust, and front stabilizer rod are all standard. The four-wheel anti-lock braking system (which is packed with side-seat front-side air bags) is also an optional equipment on all models from 2002 to 2006. Especially for the model year 2004-2006; Potential buyers can also buy caliper 4 piston Brembo caliper.
This model also comes with a sporty interior nuanced standard racing, such as Nissan Skyline inspired seats and leather-covered steering wheel. Other optional features at the time include a 300 watt Rockford Fosgate nine-speaker audio system (with an 8-inch (200 mm) subwoofer in the trunk), six-disk autochanger, and power sunroof. Other equipment includes sporty headlamps with black color around the silver reflector, standard fog lights, lower body sill extensions, and rear spoiler.
Initially, for 2002 and 2003, the SE-R Spec V (together with SE-R) was given an aggressive front fascia (laid out after Skyline GT-R) with side extensions and spoiler mounted in the rear trunk. Initially, there was speculation around the Spec V appointment as a play on the GT-R V-Spec Skyline. This speculation has proven true with the introduction of the R35 GT-R Spec V in North America. The Spec V assignment is due to the fact that for some unknown legal reason Nissan can not use the V-Spec title in the US market.
Sentra 2.5 LE and 2.5S
The QR25DE is not only sported in SE-R and SE-R Spec V trim from B15 Sentra, but also comes in 2003 Sentra 2.5LE and 2004 Sentra 2.5S. This version has no exterior similarity with SE-R trim; they clone the outer and inner parts of the lower trim (GXE, 1.8S), to incorporate clear headlights, creamy interior fabrics, and softer suspensions than the SE-R. The only transmission available is a 4-speed automatic. This trim offers a standard Sentra appearance coupled with the power of the SE-R.
2004 model year update
In 2003, the 2004 model year saw a minor facelift for all Sentras. Gearing was changed in the 2003-2006 SE-R Spec V for a quarter-second faster by 15.2 times. The SE-R came only in automatic transmission from 2003 to 2006 and was capable of a quarter of a mile time of 16.0. SE-R (Spec-V included) maintains different headlamps and gets "smoke-out" brake lights.
Special Edition
The Special Edition of the Sentra 1.8L is manufactured for both the 2005 and 2006 models. Exterior features include rear spoiler, fog lamps, SE-R-style front grille, and 16-inch alloy wheels borrowed from the SE-R model. The interior features include a 320-watt six-disc Rockford Fosgate nine-speaker sound system, and leather-covered charcoal and leather-covered fabric that is borrowed from the SE-R model. The only machines available are QG18DE paired with a five-speed manual or five-speed manual that is very limited.
For the 2004-2006 model year, no significant cosmetic changes were added to distinguish the SE-R model, while still retaining the side-skirt extensions, rear spoiler, new black housing and wheelchairs designed. The 2004 model year also features a new style of tail-light that is reminiscent of the Skyline GT-R quadline rear lights. Orange volcanic, exclusive colors for SE-R trim and Spec V available for 2004-2006 model.
Interior also redesigned accordingly. Starting in 2005, the "shifter" goose "SE-R" "goose" of the previous model was replaced with a black ball-top shifter all stitched on the skin. The original two-tone interior fabric found on the Spec V model, originally red and black for 2002, then changed to gray and black for 2003-2004, was changed to a black mesh for the last two years of production.
The brake package featuring four-piston Brembo calipers in front, 12 "ventilated front discs and 10.9" rear discs are available for the Spec V 2004-2006 model. ABS is not available with this package.
Nismo offers enhanced S-Tune and R-Tune starting in 2004, which can be installed or modified by the owner. B16 (2007-2012)
Nissan introduced the sixth generation Sentra at the 2006 North American International Auto Show in January. Classified as a mid-size sedan by the EPA thanks to passenger interiors and 110 cubic feet of cargo volume (as EPA considers "mid" or "medium" sized cars with interior passengers and cargo volumes between 110 and 119 cubic feet), Sentra is larger in every dimension than the B15 model, being 65 mm (2.3 inches) longer, 91 mm (3.2 inches) wider, and 113 mm (4.0 inches) taller. The wheelbase is also 167 mm (5.9 inches) longer than the previous model. The sixth generation also marked a change in Nissan's lineup in North America, with Nissan Versa becoming the entry-level brand model. This generation is based on the C platform architecture that also supports the first generation of Nissan Rogue, Nissan Qashqai and also the T31 Nissan X-Trail, as well as other Renault models. The standard Sentra engine is a 2.0-liter 16-valve 4-cylinder rated at 140 hp (104 kW) and 147 pound-feet (199Ã, N? M) of torque. The fuel economy for 2.0L is mated to CVT rated at 26 cities/34 hwy, and 6-speed manual in 24 cities/31 hwy. SE-R is rated at 24 cities/30 hwy with CVT being the only transmission available. The SE-R Spec-V is rated at 21 cities/28 hwy mated to a 6-speed manual.
In 2007 and 2008, Nissan was considering marketing a hybrid version of Sentra, especially when oil prices rose to more than $ 100 per barrel. But prices soon retreated below $ 40, and Nissan decided to focus on the future of hydrogen fuel cells and electric vehicles. Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn has indicated that he will not try to match Toyota and Honda in terms of the hybrid model offered for retail sales. This decision has left Nissan without a compact Hybrid product to compete with the Toyota Prius, Honda Civic Hybrid, and re-launch Honda Insight. The only Nissan hybrid product on the American market is the Altima Hybrid, which competes with the Toyota Camry Hybrid and Ford Fusion Hybrid.
For 2010, Sentra receives a mid-cycle refresh. The revisions include a new grille, an Altima inspired, revised low fascia and slightly different headlamps. At the rear, the new taillights (albeit nearly identical to previous years) and additional chrome trim pieces on the trunk and side molds highlight the big changes. New trimlines are offered to balance the price. Inside is a new red back-lighting for speedometer and knob, and a new CD player with an optional navigation system. New audio system including iPod and USB integration on certain models, as well as backup camera. Fog lamps are no longer standard on the 2.0S and SL models and leather seats are now only available as an option rather than the standard on SL models for 2010, reflected in the new lower MSRP. The Brazilian export variant is equipped with a flexible fuel engine and a retractable side mirror adopted from Nissan Versa.
The B16 generation was introduced in the Philippines (where it was sold as Sentra 200 and replaced the Pulsar-based N16 model) and Argentina in 2010. As of March 2011, Sentra has sold 948 units in Argentina.
SE- R/SE-R Spec V (2007-2012)
Nissan introduced the new SE-R version to the North American market for the 2007 model year. The SE-R is available in two versions: the SE-R base and the SE-R Spec V. Both get four wheel disc brakes instead of standard Sentra disc/drum settings, unique interior and exterior trim and 17-inch alloy wheels. Both are powered by a redesigned 2.5-liter QR25DE engine. Each model also comes standard with a sports grille, lower side side sill extensions, rear spoiler, fog lamps, chrome exhaust tip finisher, smoked headlights and smoky taillights. Unique interior features include black sports seat fabric with red stitching and SE-R embroidery logo, sportic-tone accents, aluminum pedal pads, and twin pod meters with oil pressure and G-sensor displays.
The sunroof package is optional, featuring a power sliding glass sunroof with slope features, and a double glowing mirrored mirror. The Audio package, featuring 34-watt 34-watt Rock-audio audio system, with eight speakers (two subwoofers, four mid-range woofers, and two tweets) is also available.

Upgraded suspensions include a front-stabilizer bar (23.0mm) and adjustable springs. It featured 11.7 "vented front discs and 11.5" rear disc brakes. The basic model of SE-R starts at $ 19,400 (MSRP).
The SE-R Spec V has a 200 hp (149 kW) rating at 6600 rpm and 180 lb ft (244 N m) at 5200 rpm and is equipped with a 6-speed manual and optionally limited-slip differential. It is capable of 0-60 mph times 6.7 seconds and the time is 1/4 mile from 15.1 seconds at 92.6 mph. On track, the slalom numbers produce 64.7 mph and 0.86 g in the skidpad. Compression knocked down to 10.5: 1, compared to 9.6: 1 in the SE-R base. The front disc brakes are also upgraded to 12.6 "Exclusive suspension upgrades include sport-tuned suspensions with lower altitudes, shocks and sporty struts, upper cowl reinforced, trunk-mounted V-brace, and larger front stabilizer bars (25mm ) Unique interior features include a red front seat belt, leather wrapped steering wheel with red stitching, and leather sliding knob wrapped in SE-R Spec V models starting at $ 19,900 (MSRP) 2012. 2012 is the final model of the SE-R and variants Spec V performance.

The car was sold for US $ 17,760, similar to the FE 2.0 S Sentra model.
Flex Fuel
Nissan launched in August 2009 in Brazil variant FFV from B16 Sentra. It features the same MR20DE engine, but is capable of running on hydrated ethanol (E100) or gasoline mixture with 20 to 25 percent of anhydrous ethanol (mandatory mixture since 1993) or a mixture of both in any proportion.
The machine receives a new electronic control unit (ECU) supplied by Bosch's corrosion-resistant and ethanol internal components. Among these new parts are the exhaust and seal valves and seals made with new materials, the first anodized steel piston rings, the more durable connecting rods, the fuel injectors suitable for use in ethanol and double layer exhaust gas to improve moisture resistance. fuel. Power rose to 141 hp (143 cv) in both petrol and ethanol. The compression ratio of 9.7: 1 is kept unchanged.
At the time of launch, there was some controversy over the possibility of vehicles equipped with CVT transmissions converted into flexible fuels, as this was a statement made by Honda Motor of Brazil in the launch of the second generation Honda Fit in Brazil. During the upgrades of Honda Fit 2008, the CVT system was replaced by a conventional automatic transmission and according to the manufacturer it was not possible to install CVT unrestricted transmission to a flexible fuel engine. Honda's decision to change the type of transmission reduced the cost of production and the Brazilian automotive press asked the truth of the statement after the launch of the FTV-equipped CVF Center.

Other versions
New Zealand
In countries such as New Zealand, vehicles from Nissan Nissan and Nissan Pulsar are marketed as a single model (with the exception of Pulsar, which includes an EXA model identical to North American Pulsars), different "Nissan Sentra" (apart from the station wagon) from models sold under the same name in the United States.
The Sentra name was adopted in several other countries, such as New Zealand, where it was used for the Nissan Pulsar range from 1986 (though, interestingly, the station wagon version is actually a rejuvenated California Sunny California). The Sentra name continued to be used in New Zealand for Pulsar until 1998, just as Almera was used in Europe. After 2002, the Pulsar name was adopted.
Unlike the North American version, a hatchback is offered; the engines offered are 1.4 L, 1.6 L and 2.0 L petrol engines; a diesel is available in Europe. Some are sold in the Republic of Ireland.
Southeast Asia
In Southeast Asia, Nissan Bluebird Sylphy N16 is marketed as Nissan Sentra in Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. The facelift version was introduced specifically for the region at the end of 2005, offered instead of the second generation Nissan Bluebird Sylphy, which was also launched in late 2005.
In Taiwan, Yulon has been building licensed versions of Sunny as Sentra since 1990. The Taiwanese market center reflects the style of the Japanese market Bluebird Sylphy (as well as the Almera/Pulsar sedan but with the luxury emphasis). This N16 model is called Sentra M1. Nissan Sentra nameplate back in October 2013 as B17, marketed as Nissan Super Sentra.
In Indonesia, the first and second generation Centers are Sunny-based B12 and B13 models. B12 1988-1990 offered as SGX Sedan and SR Coupe. B13 dubbed the Sentra Genesis , was only sold as a sedan from 1991 to 1996. After spending six years, Nissan reintroduced Sentra in Indonesia in 2002. The center is now based on N16 Pulsar or Nissan Bluebird Sylphy. It's powered by a 1.8-liter QG18 engine matched to a 4-speed automatic transmission. Sentra is only offered in the luxury trim level of Super Saloon , full of standard ABS and leather interior. However, it was sold only in small quantities until 2004.
The Philippines also uses the name Sentra for its Pulsar version. The N16 model is known as Nissan Sentra Exalta âââ ⬠(available from 2001 to 2003). The initial model is similar to JDM Bluebird Sylphy. Nissan Philippines introduced a model with new headlamps and taillights, which was later renamed Centra. This model is known as Sunny Neo in Thailand. N16 This Sentras has QG series powerplants and is sold in three variants namely 1.3L GX (QG13DE), GSX (QG16DE) and top of the line GS (QG16DE). Starting the third quarter of 2010, Nissan Sentra B16 became available in the Philippines including in a new row of cars from Nissan Motor Philippines (NMPI). This is called the new Nissan Sentra 200 with MR20 engines available in two variants: 6-speed manual transmission and Xtronic CVT.
