Adrien Brody (born April 14, 1973) is an American actor and producer. He received wide acclaim and praise after starring in Roman Polanski's The Pianist (2002), for which he won an Academy Award for Best Actor at the age of 29, making him the youngest actor to win in that category. Brody is also the only American male actor to receive the Caesar Award for Best Actor.

Brody was born in Woodhaven, Queens, New York, the son of Sylvia Plachy, a photographer, and Elliot Brody, a retired history professor and painter. Brody's father is of Polish Jewish descent; Brody's mother, who was raised as a Catholic, was born in Budapest, Hungary, and is the daughter of a Hungarian patrician dad who is a Catholic and a Czech Jewish mother. Brody grew up "without a strong connection" to Judaism or Catholicism.
As a child, Brody performs a magic show at a children's birthday party as "The Amazing Adrien". She attends I.S. 227 Louis Armstrong Middle School and New York's Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School Music & amp; Art and Performing Arts. Her parents enrolled her in an acting class to keep her away from the dangerous children she was associated with. He attends summer camp at Long Lake Camp for Art at the Adirondacks in upstate New York. Brody attended Stony Brook University before moving to Queens College for one semester.

Taking acting classes as a child, at the age of thirteen, he appeared in the Off-Broadway drama and a PBS television film. After appearing in Bullet in 1996 with Tupac Shakur and Mickey Rourke, Brody stood on the edge of fame, received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for his role in the 1998 movie Restaurant and later praised his role on Spike Lee's Summer of Sam and Terrence Malick The Thin Red Line . To prepare for the role, Brody resigned for months, handing over his apartment and his car, breaking up with his girlfriend, learning how to play Chopin on the piano, and losing 29 lb (13 kg). The role earned him the Academy Award for Best Actor, making him, at the age of 29, the youngest ever award-winning actor, and until now the only winner under the age of 30. He also won the Caesar award for his performance.
Brody appeared on Saturday Night Live on May 10, 2003, his first TV show, controversially introducing improvisations, while wearing faux faux hair to Jamaican reggae music guest Sean Paul. Other TV appearances include NBC's The Today Show , and on MTV's Punk'd after being cheated by Ashton Kutcher.
After The Pianist , Brody appears in four very different films. Personal life
In 1992, Brody was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in which he flew over a car and crashed into a head to the crossing. He spent months recovering. He had broken his nose three times doing stunts; the most recent is during the filming of Summer of Sam .
Brody began dating Spanish actress Elsa Pataky in 2006. For Pataky's 31st birthday in July 2007, Brody bought her a 19th century farm in the upstate state of Central York that looked like a palace. Brody and Pataky displayed at their home in New York with 35 pages for HELLO! Magazine! in October 2008. The couple broke up in 2009. Brody has been dating Lara Lieto's model since 2013.
