NGK Co., Ltd. Spark plug ( ?????????? , Nippon Tokushu T? Gy? Kabushiki-gaisha is a public company founded in 1936 and based in Nagoya, Japan. NGK manufactures and sells spark plugs and related products for internal combustion engines, along with applicable ceramics and products.
In March 2007, the company employs 10,407 people, and operates a network of 7 liaison offices, 12 sales offices, 13 production sites and 2 technical centers worldwide. Busi NGK was established as a spin-off from NKK Insulator spark plug division. Initially, NGK supplied most of its products to Japanese carmakers. Currently the company is the largest OEM sparkplug maker in the world.

Founded in 1966 - NGK Spark Plugs (USA), Inc. was established as a subsidiary of NGK Spark Plug Co., Ltd., Japan. The company's headquarters first resided in California and then moved to its current location in Wixom, Michigan. The company produces spark plugs in Irvine, California, and produces spark plugs and oxygen sensors in Sissonville, West Virginia.
In early October 2008, NGK launched a social networking site called "Art of Fast", which was then redirected to a Facebook page of the same name.
Europe
NGK established its first European subsidiary, NGK Spark Plugs (U.K.) Ltd. in 1975. Four years later NGK Spark Plug Europe GmbH in Germany is the next European subsidiary, in Ratingen, Germany. The first technology center outside Japan began operations in Ratingen, Germany in 1990. In 1991, NGK opened the NGK Spark Plug Industries Europe S.A.S., in OrlÃÆ'Ã… ans, France - its first European production facility.
Since 2000, NGK Spark Plug Europe in Ratingen operates its own logistics center. It has a plant with 6,000m 2 (65,000 sqÃ, ft) surface area and produces 25 million spark plugs as well as glowplugs for diesel motors.
Future
In December 2017, the company announced it would shift its focus to solid-state batteries, utilizing its ceramic expertise. The company says it shifts its focus, because the anticipated shift to future EVs that can change the spark plug and its oxygen sensor operations becomes obsolete.
Motorcycle engagement
The NGK spark plugs are also used by various Formula One teams including Ferrari, McLaren, Sauber, Force India and Scuderia Toro Rosso. NGK Spark Plugs is the exclusive spark plug supplier for the IndyCar Series from 2007 to 2011. But in 2012 up to now, NGK is only available for the Honda-powered IndyCar Series team. Busi NGK is currently the exclusive spark plug supplier for MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3 and Superbike World Championships for motor racing category.
