Summary
Chameleon In The Candy Shop picks up where the Oxygen Thief Diary stops. The narrator is now in an exclusive relationship with the French girl who mentions the end of the previous book. At his insistence he began to see a therapist. It looks like he'll settle down and get married until action for therapy opens another option. When he finds online dating, he begins to realize that selling a product is not much different from seducing a woman so he takes advantage of his advertising skills to do just that. After breaking up with a French girl and ending a therapy session, she embarks on a sexual adventure against all sorts of women online. As he continues to date these women, the need to promote his book becomes increasingly urgent until he begins to incorporate online dating with book promotions. It culminates in him creating a fictitious dating profile of a beautiful girl who quotes Diary Of An Oxygen Thief as his favorite book. Book sales soar because men will do anything to get a date with this fictitious beauty. We are left with the feeling that the narrator will create all sorts of "covertising" and that we should be vigilant in all our online transactions.
